About EdgarMy Friend,
My name is Edgar Pacheco Jr, and I am running to be your next School Board Trustee. It has been my honor to have lived in a loving and caring community since 2015. I believe one of our greatest qualities are our students, teachers and administrators, who have dedicated themselves in making Pearland ISD the 25th best district in the State of Texas. I began attending Pearland High School in the fall of 2015 as a freshman. I immediately felt at home, and became involved in Theatre, while volunteering in local churches during the year. I was also invited to various youth ministries in the Greater Houston Area to share a word of encouragement to students facing challenges in their daily life. In 2016, I transferred to Dawson High School for a short period of time. During this time, I had the privilege of interacting with fellow Lifeskills students and Peer Buddies who allowed me to experience a welcoming and inclusive environment. In my classes, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know hard-working teachers who cared deeply about the education, and well-being of their students. |
By the start of my senior year, I had returned to Pearland High School, and became heavily involved in Choir. I participated in the All-State process, competed in the Solo and Ensemble competition hosted at PHS, and was a featured solo act in the Spring 2019 Pop Show. I “Promposed” in the middle of the Commons, had a great night celebrating at Prom, and ended my high school career with Graduation in May 2019.
After graduation, I was honored to be chosen as an intern for Congressman Pete Olson. During my internship, I learned of the working relationship between federal, state, and local government, and how they are all interdependent on each other. I also shadowed him at hearings, events, and interactions with local businesses and citizens. My internship ended in September 2019 as I began attending San Jacinto Community College.
The only way I can summarize the past few years is by giving all honor and glory to God. My faith in Jesus has been the Cornerstone of my life for 18 years, and through Him, and the example of my family, I have seen the gift of service at work.
As I ask for your vote and support in this journey, I want you to know that students, parents, teachers, and administrators are my priority. I have no agenda, but the well-being of Pearland ISD. Thank you for your trust and partnership.
God Bless,
Edgar Pacheco Jr
